Ampersand Art Supply Wood Gesso Art Painting Panel: Canvas Texture, 3/4" Cradled Profile, 6"x12"

Ampersand Art Supply’s Canvas Texture Artist Panel is a ready-to-paint, acid-free gesso board that gives artists the familiar feel of canvas with the stability of a rigid panel. The textured acrylic gesso surface mimics fine linen, providing brush control and natural tooth without the sagging, stretching, or weave interruptions of fabric canvas. It’s an ideal introduction for artists transitioning from canvas to panels, offering a comfortable, traditional feel with the performance benefits of solid support. This versatile painting surface is excellent for oils, acrylics, casein, cold wax, and mixed media. The canvas-textured ground handles alla prima, glazing, palette-knife work, and heavier paint applications with ease. Because of the rigid MDF core, the panel stays still while you work—providing control, precision, and fine detail without the movement or bounce of stretched canvas. Acrylic painters appreciate the consistent brush response, while oil painters benefit from a stable substrate that preserves detail. The 3/8"" flat profile features a built-in keyhole hanger for quick, ready-to-display mounting. The cradles of the 3/4"" and 1½""profiles offer added strength and a contemporary presentation. Panels come ready to use—no mounting, stretching, or additional gesso layers required. Built with a durable, warp-resistant MDF core, this painting board remains flat under heavy paint, palette-knife work, and mixed-media layering. It serves as a dependable alternative to traditional canvas boards, canvas panels, and unfinished craft wood surfaces for artists of all experience levels. Available in a range of sizes from 4x4 to 18x24, Canvas Texture is trusted for fine art, practice pieces, workshops, and hobby projects. All panels are made with FSC-certified materials, reflecting Ampersand’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and responsible manufacturing.
