The Austin Air HealthMate air cleaner is an efficient air purifier featuring America's #1 filter. The HealthMate air purifier cleans indoor air with the help of 60 square feet of true medical HEPA filter media surrounded by 15 pounds of Carbon-Zeolite mix filter (10 parts carbon, 1 part zeolite) for excellent adsorption of odors and gasses. Activated carbon is effective at removing gas molecules and odors and is the most common element in military gas masks. Zeolite is a natural mineral that has the distinct capability of adsorbing certain gas molecules. Zeolite is particularly effective in adsorbing formaldehyde, ammonia and carbon monoxide. The HEPA filter is aided by a Permafilt pre filter which is a cotton cloth that lines the inside wall of the unit.
