Black History & Me: Looking at the past to create a better future

My name is Omari Amili. I am a father, author, educator, and business owner from Seattle, Washington. I am also the creator of Black History & Me. Black History & Me is the official workbook for the Black History & Me workshop and online course. Many Black youth have either been miseducated, undereducated, or not educated at all when it comes to Black History. Black History & Me guides youth through a process of education and self-reflection where the main areas of focus are Black History and them.Black History & Me was inspired by a pilgrimage to the south where I learned about our history while standing on the same soil where that history was made. I was impacted by this trip in ways that words cannot describe and I came home committed to turning my experience into more than just a memory. This workbook and the related workshops and online courses are part of my attempt to do just that.I hope this opportunity to explore our history and how you fit in will have a similar impact on you.Make your ancestors proud!
