This magnificent cast iron doorknocker is a replica of the one adorning the world's most famous door, 10 Downing Street. Designed by Kenton Couse and installed in the 1770s, the Downing Street door featured a brass name plate and a cast iron lion doorknocker. The lion, a long-standing British symbol of bravery, nobility, and strength, is intricately detailed with life-like features and an imposing mane. Like the original, this doorknocker is made from durable cast iron, accompanied by a strong hinge, and comes with a painted finish to enhance details and increase longevity. Fixing screws and a striking plate are included, making it easy to mount on any door. A stunning piece, perfect for adding a touch of historic elegance to any entrance.
