Mortaio Marmo Bianco Pestello White Marble Mortar with Pestle Home Cucina Vintage Design 10x10cm

Functional and refined mortar made with classic Italian white marble. Durable and elegant material that gives an original and modern look to a tool whose origins are very old. Preciousness of the material and fluidity of the form blend in a unique and elegant object. The name mortar derives from the Latin vulgar mortarjius, derived in its turn from the oldest mortare (making the parts). The need to crush and pulverize some materials for percussion dates back to the remote era and was initially practiced above all by using natural cavities and, perhaps, even before the milling with the millstone, with the almost always stone mortars. The oldest mortars are in hard stone (used, for example, by Etruscans and Greeks), marble or alabaster. Even the Bible bears witness to its ancient use: "The manna was crushed in the mortar to make cakes". Also available in other colors and size.Any imperfections and differences with the image are to be considered a guarantee of the uniqueness of the object and of the material.
