Playing Dulcimer in the Chord Melody Style: Dulcimer/Solos

An instruction and repertoire book for beginning to advanced students of the mountain dulcimer. Rosamond Campbell's chord-melody style consists of much more than fingerpicking arpeggiated chords. She uses drags, brushes, broken pinches, and held notes, combined with hammers, pulls, slides, steps, arpeggios, and other techniques to enrich the texture of the music and enlarge the musical landscape. The book's emphasis is on beautiful playing from the start. It includes 25 songs in levels from comfortable to demanding. This personal and substantive book is intended to be both instructional and inspiring. Written for the 3-course dulcimer with a 6+ fret in DAA, DAC, and DAD tuning. All melodies appear in standard notation with performance notes and suggested backup chords, often with complete lyrics. Includes access to online audio. Read more
