A quiet winter scene drawn from the book Gnomes, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., featuring artwork copyrighted 1976 by Unieboek BV. This First Skater plate from the Gnomes Four Seasons series depicts a lone figure stepping onto newly frozen water beneath a pale moon, his reflection stretching across the ice. The muted palette, hushed landscape, and sense of anticipation capture the stillness of winter just before movement begins.
