This elegant stained glass gothic window panel features the lovely Scottish thistle on a field of blue and purple. Made of high-quality stained glass by Royal Tara Giftware, the panel is the perfect accent for anyplace the sun shines. The thistle is the national flower of Scotland and is among the most used motifs in Scottish design. Legend has it that the thistle saved Scotland from invading Viking raiders when, upon coming ashore, one raider stepped on a thistle, crying out, and inadvertently alerted the Scottish army to their position. The pointed gothic shape of this panel evokes the many gothic stained glass windows found throughout Scottish churches and cathedrals. Royal Tara has been making quality and functional souvenirs and gifts for over 50 years and is based in County Galway, Ireland. This Scottish Thistle Gothic Window Panel measures 20cm (approx. 7.8in) in height. A hook for hanging is included.
