The Squirrel Buster Squirrel Proof Finch Feeder is an exciting addition to the Squirrel Buster line of squirrel proof bird feeders. The feeder uses the same excellent squirrel-proofing technology as the Classic and Plus feeders, but has the small ports and other design features to make it ideal for use with nyjer seed. A weight-based mechanism closes access to the seed ports when a squirrel climbs on, preventing them from getting to the seed. Birds are light enough that they do not activate the mechanism.

How It Works Openings in the wire shroud align with seed ports and provide birds access to the seed. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically forces the shroud down, closing access to the seed ports. All squirrels and many large birds are foiled but not harmed in any way.

Patented Seed Tube Ventilation System Transparent seed tubes are like greenhouses, they trap solar energy. Traditional seed tube cover designs block the escape of heated air. The patented seed Tube Ventilation system in squirrel Buster Finchpermits humidity and warm air to escape through waterproof vents at the top of the feeder. The escaping air is replaced with fresh air entering the seed ports and openings on the bottom of the seed tube. The seed remains fresher and attracts more birds.
