Water Poppy (Hydrocleys Nymphoides)

Water Poppy (Hydrocleys nymphoides) is a beautiful aquatic plant known for its glossy, lily-like leaves and bright green color. In warmer conditions, it blooms cute yellow flowers that resemble poppies, hence its common trade name. If you're looking for pond plants that add character and texture to an outdoor or indoor pond, or a large planted aquarium with a marginal area, this one’s a great pick!

Water poppies provide several benefits, including natural filtration and coverage for fish or shrimp. They are generally easy to grow when planted in nutritious soil and provided with high light. In outdoor setups, this aquatic plant loves full sun but does not tolerate colder climates well. When happy, regular trimming is necessary to manage its growth and spread, and it can be propagated easily by separating runners and replanting.
