- CHARACTERISTICS: Our hand-made girth for western saddles is crafted from genuine sheepskin and durable quilted fabric. The buckles and D-rings, used to attach auxiliary reins, are made of stainless steel to ensure long-lasting durability. The wool is approximately 30 mm / 1.2 inches thick. The total length of the girth is measured from one buckle pin to the other.
- FIT: The shorter, inner side of the girth faces the horse's front legs, while the long, convex outer side runs toward the belly. The moonshaped design is ideal for horses with short backs, wide rib cages, and narrow chests. Its shape prevents the girth from being pushed forward and offers elbow clearance to reduce the risk of chafing.
- BENEFITS: Lambskin is the ideal material for saddle girths as it is soft, non-abrasive, breathable, and temperature-regulating. Air can circulate freely between the fibres, making the girth perfect for warmer weather. It absorbs sweat effectively, keeping your horse’s skin dry. This girth is especially suitable for horses with sensitive skin.
- ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY: We are deeply committed to environmentally friendly production. Every step of the process—design, manufacture, and finishing—is done by hand in our own facilities, allowing for minimal environmental impact.
- CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Our lambskin girth is machine-washable and remains unaffected by drying. We recommend using our CHRIST C7 laundry detergent for lambskin care. When dried in a tumble dryer, the lambskin stays soft and elastic.
