The Refrigerator Main Control Board manages the functions of the refrigerator such as cooling and defrosting times. This part is located behind a panel on the back of your refrigerator. Remove all of the shelves from your refrigerator. Open the access panel and disconnect the wires from the thermistor. Then you can remove the old control board from its housing. This will make it easier to connect the wires to the appropriate terminals on the new control board. Split the smaller half of the new control board from the larger half and lock it into place in its housing. The new control board will need to be programmed after installation to work properly. The code for programming the new board is located on the serial plate in the upper right corner of your refrigerator. Easy to install with basic hand tools like a multi-screwdriver, some disassembly of the refrigerator, and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Make sure to safely store any food before installing this part.
